Insight from Moving On

Is it sad to have to move on, or is it just a simple fact of life? Going from age to age, we always have to leave things behind; that blanket our parents made us stop carrying around when we were young, those childhood friends we used to know that have since moved away, or that first house with the swing set in the back yard. We all have to move on. This is simply just a part of life. So what does this mean when taking our experiences into account? I think it means that we have to get the most we possibly can from these experiences. We have to learn to truly enjoy the lives we are currently living, because if we don’t, some day we will look back, and feel a regret and longing for these times.

Think about a friend in your life, or a process you are currently going through. Does it give you satisfaction? Are they enjoyable? Taking the idea of the friend into account – are you trying to enjoy the time you are spending with this friend as much as you can? When you are with this friend, are you spending the time as if you both have all the time in the world, or are you spending this time with the reality in mind that you probably won’t always have this person to be there with you?

Now I am not trying to be morbid or depressing. I am simply trying to help you come to an understanding that almost nothing is permanent. So it is our duty to try and make the very most we can out of all the experiences we are having. In life, we are thrust into experiences, and we also thrust ourselves into these experiences. Once we are in these experiences, we have a choice; we can choose to live in the moment, and enjoy the beautiful time we have been given with every fiber of our being, or we can choose to simply switch on to autopilot, and not really enjoy all that our lives have to offer us.

So next time you are out with family or friends, or are even by yourself in a beautiful place, take the time to enjoy the moment. Savor it, and make it last while you have the chance – because it is a blessing just to be alive. And while you are with these people you care about, let them know you love them, let them know how much you care about them, and how much they really mean to you. And then just enjoy your time with them. Because this is what life is really about.

Until next time,

Moving On

We all have to move on. It is one of the saddest parts of life. So how do we deal with it? The truth is, I’m not quite sure.

This life has great experiences, great time of joy, and times of trial. But the sad part about all of this is that we always must move on from every experience we face, whether they be good or bad. We cannot just simply prolong moments – things just don’t work this way. So we meet new people, wonderful people, and we make deep and meaningful friendships. But how long can this last? Life happens and as a result, we must always move on. To newer and better things? Hopefully.

I have made a lot of good friends while I’ve been out here at school. I’ve had great times with a lot of people, and I’ve made friendships I never would’ve expected to have. I’ve made a best friend that I wouldn’t have expected to meet, who’s brought a lot of happiness into my life, and I’ve met lots of great people that have helped me to totally shift my views on the world. The sad part is I know that I have to leave this all behind, and this really sucks.

Just last night, I took a girl on a date, and I had an awesome time. What I had planned to be a date going from just 7 to 9 ended up going until 12, just because we spent so much time talking. It all came easily, and the conversation wasn’t forced the way I find it for some people. And she was a lot of fun. So this morning, I got to thinking: is there any point on going on another date? I mean sure, I had a great time, but school will be over in two weeks, and then I’ll probably never see most of these people again, unless I just somehow happen to run into them. So it really does suck meeting all of these great people to end up just realizing that I might never see them again – because every person I meet is an individual. Everybody that I meet has a completely distinct personality that nobody else can match, so it’s a shame to realize I might never be around these people again.

Kind of a dreary post, I know, but it’s just been on my mind as of late. So the real question comes down to this: what should we do? Should we try and insure that we see these people at some other point in our lives, or should we just enjoy the experiences while they last? I will leave that answer up to you.

Until next time,

—Jackson

The Gift of Music

Music is amazing. Really, I can’t think of anything that is capable of better inspiring me as an individual than when I am listening to a beautiful song, a song that has meaning, and that I can find meaning in and relate to, and a song that I can learn from. Music can be one of the closest connections we have to communicating directly to the soul. It can inspire us – make us want to be better as individuals. It can make us cry. It can make us feel the whole range of human emotions. It really is one of the greatest expressions of this world that we have power over.

Think about the last time you listened to a beautiful song, and the emotions that you felt while listening to it. Did it make you sad? Did it make you cry for joy? Maybe it helped you feel a new excitement for this life you have been given. The point is, music has power over us – it can make us feel whatever we want to feel, when chosen correctly. And because of our ability to choose what music we are listening to, we are given an ability to have power over ourselves. It is capable of directly affecting our emotions, and through our emotions, our lives. So are we using this great gift of music to make our lives and the lives of those around us better?

You have a great opportunity to go and listen to uplifting music – music that makes you happy, makes you smile, and makes you want to live your life in a better way. It can inspire you, and help you inspire others. It can motivate you, and help you through the tough times in your life. So use this gift, use it as much as you can, because, when chosen correctly, good music can lift you to higher grounds, and help you become a better person in the process. And if you have the ability to create music and help lift others in the process, don’t be selfish. You have a talent, and you can use that to help other people, so go out and do it!

I hope I have given you some things to think about. Take the time and try and understand how great of an impact (for the better or worse) music can have in your life. And until next time, Adieu!

What Makes a Good Singer?

Here is a topic I have been thinking on lately, that I probably won’t post too much on later. It has just been on my mind. The topic revolves around a certain question: What makes a good singer?

If you can, try and think of all the live performances you have ever witnessed. Impossible, I know, but just try and think of as many as you can. Think about the singers. How was it that you knew whether or not someone was a good singer? Was it how well they hit the notes? Was it the confidence with which they sang? I’m sure it had to do with both of those things, and then some, but I would like to point out a key difference, or a key factor, that I think needs to be noticed when understanding what makes a good singer. A good singer makes their audience feel comfortable. When you listen to a bad singer, how do you feel? I’m sure it’s not comfortable. I know that whenever I listen to a poor singer, there is always this certain tension in my gut. It’s always this feeling of waiting, just waiting for them to screw up, and there’s also a slight feeling of embarrassment I feel for them as well. Horrible, I know. But don’t pretend like you don’t feel this way as well when a poor singer is performing. You are always just waiting for it to be over.

Now think of the last time you listened to a good singer. Were you on the edge of your seat, just waiting, and hoping they wouldn’t mess up? Of course not! You were able to just sit back and relax, and enjoy the music as it came, which is how music is really supposed to be for us.

Next time you are listening to a live performance, just feel in your gut, and that will tell you whether or not the performer is a good singer. You will feel comfortable if they are. So I guess the point of this article is that if you want to become a good singer or performer, just make your audience feel comfortable.

Until next time, Adieu!

How the Rich Stay Rich

I’m just going to write a quick post on something very interesting I learned today, that I had never really put much thought into before. Have you ever wondered how it is the rich stay rich? – what it is that do that really keeps them wealthy, and provides them a constant (and large) cash flow, year after year? The answer is a lot simpler than I would have before thought, and consists of just one word: interest. The rich stay rich because they understand the inherent strength of large sums of money, and the interest that can be generated with these large sums of money.

So how exactly is it that the rich stay rich? They invest their money. So let’s say you are rich, and have ten million dollars. You have a lot of options as to what to do with this money. You could go and buy a new car, a new house, and live extravagantly, or you could choose to invest this money – because if you invest wisely, you could easily live off of this ten million dollars for the rest of your life, and still live the high life. So what should you do with this money? You should find something to invest it in that will safely guarantee you 6-10% income every year. You could invest in stocks, bonds, treasuries – you name it, there are so many options. But once you have this steady interest, you are set for life.

Think about it. If you had ten million dollars, and received 10% interest on that ten million every year, you would be earning a steady passive income of one million dollars per year. Do you think it would be hard living off of one million dollars a year? – Probably not. This is how the rich stay rich. Someone who is very well off with, let’s say, 60 million dollars in the bank, could be making a passive 6 million dollars every year. And that is without any work (they could be off making money in other business ventures and not have to worry, because they know that they will have that steady 6 million to fall back on if things don’t always work out with new businesses). Life becomes so much easier when you understand the value of interest.

One last thing I would like to state is to keep in mind that this only works if you are already wealthy. You won’t make a ton of money with a 10% interest rate if you don’t have any money to invest. It is much better to create a product or service that helps you get rich, using the 3 Principles of Wealth that I discussed earlier on, and then use this money to generate passive income, than it is to just try and get rich off of interest (which isn’t very likely to happen). Just some things to keep in mind.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed, and until next time, Adieu!

The Beauty of Technology

Isn’t it amazing to think that you can sit here and type something online, or submit something – some idea, thought, or blurb – and that that idea you just submitted will instantaneously become accessible across the entire face of the world? Almost anyone, anywhere, can access that information. This truly is amazing to think about. And really, do think about it. Just a couple hundred years ago, the top speed at which anything was capable of trans-versing the world was limited to the speed of a horse. And that was all. Nowadays, thanks to modern technology, this is not so.

With the advent of the internet, we have gained at our fingertips almost the entire combined knowledge of the human race. Almost anything that we can desire to learn about, we can find online. Do you have some skill or ability that you have been wishing to learn? Just go online. There will probably be an abundance of resources available to you – all of this knowledge at your disposal; I find that to be an amazing thing to think about.

With this new technology also comes new opportunity. And these opportunities are abundant. Never before, in the whole history of mankind, have so many people been in so close proximity to so many abundant opportunities as there are in the world today, in this present era. Are we utilizing these opportunities?

Just some thoughts I have been having that you may enjoy pondering as well.

Until next time, Adieu!

Life as a Gift

Should we view this life as a trial, or a blessing? Sometimes people in this world believe that this life has to be a trial, and they almost get in the mindset that things always have to be hard and challenging. But I believe this life is a blessing. It is a time to achieve anything it is that we want to. There is so much opportunity, and so many chances to go out and make changes and make a difference, for better or worse. So let’s not view this life as a challenge. Let us view this life as a blessing and an opportunity to experience all it is we can. Let’s go skydiving, start families, and make our first million. Because this is the true gift of individuality and freedom. It is the freedom to make a change and experience the joys of life.

Just some things to think about. Until next time,

Forget about Excuses

We all, from time to time, come up with excuses. It really is amazing when you think about it – the number of excuses we are capable of coming up with to help us not have to do the things that we really should be doing. Someone is in need of assistance – “Oh, I’m sorry. I’m really busy this weekend, but I do really wish I couldve helped you!” You have a business idea – “This is a great idea! I’m going to start working on it as soon as I get the proper funding.” You want to start learning a new skill – “I really think it would be fun to learn to play the guitar, but I just don’t have the time right now…” You see where I am going with this? We come up with excuses for everything. Everything that could be of value  to us in our lives, but that takes just a little bit of effort, we sabotage. We create reasons as to why now isn’t the proper time, and why we really should be doing other things, when in reality, all we are doing is being lazy!

So is there something you have been meaning to do for a while, but just haven’t gotten around to because you’ve been too “busy”? How about you take just a single step towards that goal today, and then go and make an effort to take at least just a single small step a day. You will be amazed at what it is you are capable of accomplishing in a month with this attitude (mindset), as opposed to not even taking the effort to begin in the first place.

Once you have started, you will find that it is easier to pick up speed. You will find yourself beginning to really enjoy the task (and the results of that task) that you have made for yourself. Trust me – I am speaking from personal experience here.

Take some time to sort through your mind and think about a couple of things you have been meaning to do lately. Then think of why you haven’t done these things, and what excuses you have been using in order to sabotage yourself and your efforts (not to mention your personal progress), and then forget these excuses! They are doing nothing but holding you back! You will realize that you are so much happier with your life when you are constantly progressing towards a goal, or to new skills and knowledge, than when you are constantly coming up with excuses and hindering yourself and your growth as an individual. So make a goal, realize how much happiness and joy the attaining of this goal will bring into your life, and then work towards it. I can honestly tell you that you will not regret it, and your self-confidence, for owning up to yourself and what it is you should be doing, will go through the roof!

I hope you can think about these things and realize what great importance they can hold in your life, and until next time, Adieu!
